mission's new launch boat and 9th launch since 1891, which is named
Day Spring, heads out into the anchorage. As we pull up alongside
anchored ships I never cease to think about how massive these ships
truly are. It is very humbling to pull up to a wall of steel that is 20
meters high and two to three football fields long, especially because
there are only about 20 crew members on bored any given ship. The
next part is my favorite. Balancing on the front of the launch boat I
must climb up a rope ladder, called the pilot ladder, on the side of the
