Interestingly seafarers are dealing with the same problems now as
they were two thousand years ago in the time of St. Paul, and because
they are spending even less time in port loneliness and isolation are
very easy for them to succumb to. I believe that the Mission to
seafarers truly is comparable to the people of Malta that took care of
St. Paul and the others on board that Roman vessel. Although we
cannot always bring them around a fire on shore we instead bring the
