were family. This "first mission" went above and beyond to make sure
that these seafarers were taken care of. It is this unconditional love
that the Mission to Seafarers brings those people working at sea. Just
like the people of Malta did for Saint Paul and the other crew, we bring
seafarers out of the rain and cold and offer them a place around the
fire. It is also intriguing to see that the people of Malta had no regard
for race or religion. They did not care if one was a Roman soldier, a
prisoner, a Christian, a Jew, or a Pagan. They took care of people in
need and truly exemplified the Holy Spirit, regardless of whether they
